Committing to a sustainable future should be the goal of every organisation, community, and business.
Becton Property Group Leads Australian Property Developers in Sustainability
Becton Property Group is one of Australia’s most successful property development
companies. As a leader in their field, they have made environmental sustainability
a priority for their new developments, including their flagship development at Northbeach
Byron, located at Byron Bay.
The property is being developed and constructed using EC3 Global’s
Precinct Planning
and Design programme, which will ensure all stages of the property’s expansion,
from design to daily business functions, is operating at the highest environmental
and resource efficiency standard.
“
The Precinct Planning and Design programme
was chosen because it’s an ongoing programme
that will continue throughout the life of Northbeach Byron,” Development Manager
Simon Stockfeld said. “Because the process provides feedback it also allows for
long-term, continuous improvement.”
Becton is introducing a number of initiatives to complement their involvement with
the Precinct Planning and Design programme, including the replanting of 800,000
native trees, (making it one of the largest replanting projects undertaken in Australia)
and the inclusion of water tanks for all apartments.
EC3 Global’s
Precinct Planning and Design Certification Standard was developed to
encompass projects which incorporate multiple complexes such as residences, community
centres, small retail outlets and commercial space, in addition to the infrastructure
connecting these land uses. The forward planning and careful design of business
developments promotes resource efficiency that reduces impacts on the environment
and leads to lower costs in infrastructure, construction and operation.
