Nomad Safaris are a New Zealand Tour Operator, operating in Queenstown. Their fleet is the largest commercial fleet of Land Rover vehicles in New Zealand.
The operation offers such unique trips as that which visits ‘Middle Earth’, the location of the Lord of the Rings film set; and a walking track which was officially opened by New Zealand’s Prime Minister Helen Clark and singer Shania Twain.
The company’s participation in the Green Globe Premium programme has helped them manage environmental tasks and responsibilities such as energy and water consumption, the amount of waste sent to landfill or recycling, as well as paper, Cleaning and pesticide usage, community contributions and vehicle management.
Each Benchmarked Assessment Report has provided Nomad Safaris with a thorough and helpful overview of their performances during the years since they started with Green Globe. Benchmarking Reports helped them identify gaps and areas requiring improvement, as well as being able to compare their operations with others of the same size, scope and location.
Nomad Safaris’ commitment to Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility has now been rewarded through the Sustainable 60 Awards (www.sustainable60.co.nz), in which they are a Finalist in the Strategy and Governance section, as well as in the Overall Small Exemplar category.
The winners will be announced at the cocktail awards night in Auckland on Wednesday 2 December and EC3 Global wishes Nomad Safaris the best of luck.
